Osaka is a large city with many places to visit and explore. While smaller cities such as Nara, Takamatsu, and Kobe can be visited in a day, places like Kyoto and Osaka are worth a stay for several days.

Osaka has several districts that are worth visiting, including Minuma, Chūōkōtōnishi-cho, Kiyamachi-ku, and Higashikoyo-ku. These areas have unique neighborhoods that are worth checking out.

Minuma is located south of the Shinbashi highway and features beautiful scenery throughout the area. Check out the Onsen Keido line train route at Kiyamachi Station to reach this area in under an hour!

Chūōkōtōnishi-cho is located north of the Shinbashi highway and features some interesting neighborhoods such as Hachijo Island Park and Hakurei Kotai. There are also some cute old houses you can rent to add more character to your trip.

Kiyamachi-ku is located in the northern part of Osaka and features some historic districts such as Nakanoshima and Arima Castle.

Namba

If you want to see some of the best temples and shrines in Osaka, Namba is the place to do it. There are many temples and shrines in Namba, so you will have a hard time finding a specific temple or shrine.

This can be problematic at times, as there may be several people trying to visit the same temple at the same time. Tourists can be very invasive as they look over everything and try to find the best entrance into each temple.

Shinsaibashi

Tsūtenkaku

Tsūtenkaku is the tallest building in Osaka, rising 483 meters to its top. It was constructed in 1983 and has been a symbol of the city ever since.

A museum devoted to all things science, Japan Science Museum is an easy place to visit as a family.

At just over 1 kilometre, the museum is NOT short! It can be visited in a single sitting or in multiple visits.

Most of the exhibits are accessible to all ages, but there are some that are more for younger visitors. Many of them focus on robotics and engineering and introduce young users using easy-to-understand displays.

The one big draw at this museum is that it has so many different exhibits that you will never see same on every visit! You will have to go in search of your next favorite thing.

You can find trails that wind their way through the forest, which adds some interesting twists and turns to see. One trail even goes all the way around a lake, making it a nice place to take your shoes off!
