Aging Expectations

Take Me Out…

philsTo The Ballgame.

That’s right, it’s baseball season.

What? Not what you were expecting?

Going to baseball games is not at the top of my list of favorite things to do, especially not when Leah is attending. Having a five year-old at the game just takes the fun out of it.

Does that sound totally mean?

Maybe this will put it into perspective…

The day starts off great…how can you go wrong with a lollipop on your dad’s lap.

Then it’s off to the “Phun” Zone (playground). Her dad took her and they stayed for TWO whole innings.

Actually, this was when my favorite part of the day happened.

Then back to the seat for BARBIES! Yes, Barbies at a baseball game. Her dad is a rock-star. I love how he’s playing while watching the game!

Then the incessant requests for cotton-candy begin. My daughter is cotton-candy addict. She MUST have it. She doesn’t stop talking about it until…she gets it.

Then this proved to be a distraction…for, like, five minutes.

Then the game goes into EXTRA INNINGS…what??? Yes, it’s true. 14 in total. However, we only stayed for 10. Mostly because of this…

I’m not sure what’s worse, that they stop selling beer in the 7th inning or that they close the “Phun” Zone…So, we ran around the stadium for the 9th and 10th inning.

Until finally, we all gave up, went home, and watched the Phillies lose on TV.

A great day was had by all. Possibly some. Okay, maybe one person.
