After our brief stay and quick breakfast at the Country Inn and Suites, we were back on the road!
Today was a big driving day. I planned ahead for a stop at a park about 2.5 hours into the drive.
Before we left, I imagined two and a half hours being the perfect timing for stops. And, I have to say, I was right 🙂
Finding a playground online is not the easiest thing in the world. Here’s my method…
I map my route on MapQuest. I like the site and I love the app.
We used it the whole trip and I highly suggest it. It rerouted us multiple times for traffic and we were never disappointed.
With the Maps app that is standard on the iPhone, I always seem to have some issue. I never feel like it’s giving me the best directions. Not true with the MapQuest app. Call me crazy but I thought it was more on point.
Anyway, I plot our route in MapQuest then zoom in and guess what? It shows playgrounds and parks!
So, I found one I thought would work.
The only problem is these parks are not rated so I’m not sure what we might find.
When we got there, we were pleasantly surprised! It was a school playground, which was unlocked and open!
It was big but not too crowded and Leah had a great time!
We had to cut it a little short because she had to go potty.
Tip: Stop at a potty before your activity begins!
We ate at a McDonald’s for lunch (and used their facilities – thank you, Ronald). After a quick stop for gas, we were back on the road…heading toward Nashville!
We arrived to Nashville around 2pm. I already visited Nashville on a girl’s trip and didn’t think Leah would love being dragged to all the cool bars I wanted to go to so we opted to check into the hotel and visit the pool.
The pool at the Country Inn and Suites left a lot to be desired. There were broken chairs (one in the pool) and lots of cigarette butts around but Leah enjoyed it for a bit.
I wanted my uncle to go to the Country Music Hall of Fame, which I highly recommend if you are in Nashville but he choose not to go 🙁
We had dinner at Longhorn Steakhouse, which was okay. Then we went to Marble Slab for ice cream, which was awesome (we don’t have those in my neck of the woods!).
The best part of the day though was finding Versona. It is an accessories shop with a limited amount of clothing. It was FABULOUS. So inexpensive with such great pieces. The stuff on sale was ridiculously low. OMG, I want this store near me!! Loved it!
After shopping, it was off for sweet dreams back at the hotel. Until tomorrow!
Next…Jackson, Tennessee and the Casey Jones Museum
