Aging Expectations

Let’s Eat: Zinburger, Cherry Hill

zinburgerMy husband and I were able to sneak away one week-day afternoon to grab lunch together. Oh, the joys of a meal with no interruptions, no crayons at the table, no dropping food on the floor…

It’s even more decadent when it’s in the afternoon. It’s like we’re getting away with something really crazy!

For this wild opportunity, we decided to try Zinburger.

It’s a new-to-us place located close to home. It’s a chain but on the smaller side (as chains go).

Since we were being so insane, I decided to start off the meal with a…cocktail! I order the Watermelon Sipper.

It was a-mazing.

It was worth the entire afternoon out.

I could have had 10 of those (and not come home until the next day).

You should definitely try it!

zinburgerMy husband and I both got burgers (of course). He tried the special of the month. I forget what it was called but it was a tribute to the Phillies Phantic. It was delicious.

I ordered the Samburger. When I see Thousand Island dressing my mind goes blank. Unfortunately, my husband won this round. The special was way better.

We also got the sweet potato fries.

Here’s what I loved:

  • Watermelon cocktail!!!
  • Cool, new atmosphere
  • Extremely friendly service
  • My husband’s burger

Here’s what I liked:

  • My burger
  • The sweet potato fries

Here’s what I didn’t love:

  • The dipping sauce for the sweet potato fries

Where do you take your husband when you have an afternoon without the kids?

Here are some other places you might want to consider, if you can steal away from the kids (or even if they have to come)!

  1. Not that it happens often, but my husband and I recently had a weekend afternoon free and decided to go back to Bar Ferdinand for some tapas. Sangria and tapas bring us back to our 10th wedding anniversary trip to Spain, and we enjoyed every moment of our visit to this restaurant. We had everything from Marcona almonds and olives to baked goat cheese, scallops, and grilled octopus (excellent).

We’ll have to try Zinburger- I’m not a wine drinker, but your cocktail sounds like something right up my alley!
