While vacationing in San Diego, we decided to try Ruby’s Diner for dinner.
Ruby’s is a chain but when we heard there is one in Oceanside, Ca right at the end of a pier, we said,
“Totally cool! We’re in!”
So after a day of fun, we drove from Carlsbad to Oceanside. The drive there was fine…no problem. The traffic as we got close…
Seems a lot of people like to go to Oceanside in the summer. Imagine that!
We found the first parking lot and luckily it was close to the pier. Right across the street, in fact. Here’s one thing you need to know, bring a jacket. It’s chilly on that pier!
There were tons of people out fishing right off the pier. Some were even catching fish!
The restaurant is at the vvvverrrry end of the pier.
When we got there, it was a 60 minute wait. Not too bad and there was a balloon guy right outside. This was one of the best balloon guys…funny, great balloons, he really made the time pass quickly.
Luckily, we were able to capture to the sunset.
Worth the visit for that alone!
The service was really friendly. The food was just okay. It reminded me of a Friendly’s.
Here’s what I loved:
- the location!
Here’s what I liked:
- the balloon guy
- the service
Here’s what I didn’t love:
- the food
- the bathrooms (totally a mess)
