Aging Expectations

Let’s Eat: Phở Trúc Xanh

san diegoYou might remember awhile ago, I showed you my trip plan for San Diego. Then nothing.

Well, we did go! And, we had an amazing time. I’m happy to say, we did everything on our plan! That usually doesn’t happen. Usually I have a plan but one or two things may get left off or something else gets added but this time, we were pretty on point!

So this is San Diego week!

The first is our review of Phở Trúc Xanh. Don’t know what that means…

Neither do I!

But it is the name of the Vietnamese restaurant we visited after the Safari Park. It was a short drive away.

It is a little tough to get to…only because it’s on the corner of a really busy intersection. With my husband’s expert driving skills, we made it.

I was a little hesitant because we don’t have a lot of Vietnamese restaurants around here but I figured why not, let’s be adventurous. And, I’m so glad we were!

This place was adorable. Bright and cheery with lots of fun colors. The menu was intimidating but they had pictures of most of the dishes, which made it much easier.

Even better, the staff was friendly and welcoming. I hate going somewhere new and different and the waiters are rude because you don’t understand their menu.

I’m not just talking about different cultures. Around here there are sandwich shops that are annoyed if you don’t order correctly the first time. I get they might be doing it for effect but it makes me want to spend my money somewhere else.

At Phở Trúc Xanh, you don’t have to worry. They will explain everything to you and aren’t annoyed if you take some time to order.

Everything we ordered was delicious. The little salad they give you with every dish was so fresh. And, their dipping sauce made everything taste even better.

san diegoHere’s what I loved:

  • the food
  • the service
  • the atmosphere

Here’s what I didn’t love:

  • the location

If you live in this area or are visiting the San Diego Safari Park, I highly recommend trying Phở Trúc Xanh!

Let me know if you have visited…
I’d love to hear your thoughts!
