Well, I had a list of a few restaurants recommended from various places. I showed the list to the concierge. He highlighted a few of my choices and said La Estacion was very good and casual. Since the family was all in flip-flops, we picked there.
It was so close. I was a little worried it would be hard to find because the addresses in Puerto Rico are…hhhm, how do I put this…let’s just say “up for interpretation” meaning, you could easily interpret it the wrong way!
The concierge assured me is was just one turn out of the resort and down the road a short way. This was true! It was so easy to find.
We sat outside and I’d call the atmosphere Shabby Caribbean Chic. I loved it. My husband didn’t find it quite as charming. The staff was great. I’ve never had my water so attentively managed. The special was lobster. Here they are:
We didn’t get them but Leah loved it. My son did get the snapper special, which was the best dish of the night. Check it out:
My other son got a pork dish, which was good. My husband and I split a monfongo (a Puerto Rican speciality) with shark. Here’s what I found out, I don’t like shark. Leah got a hot dog and was in heaven.
The portions are large! You will not leave hungry.
Here’s what I loved:
- the atmosphere
- the service
- the portion size
Here’s what I liked:
- the food
- the citrus lemonade
Here’s what I didn’t like:
