Fort San Cristóbal, Puerto Rico

Fort San Cristóbal, Puerto Rico

Beautiful views

On our last day in Puerto Rico, we checked out of the hotel around 11a. Our flight wasn’t leaving until around 3p so we had some extra time.

We decided to visit Fort San Cristóbal in San Juan. It’s only about 15 minutes from the airport so if you have a little time when you arrive or before you depart, I highly suggest you drive over and visit.

The fort is a National Park. We went on a National Holiday, Martin Luther King Jr Day, so all admission was free. Woo hoo, free!

Now, let me say, I love historic places. Love, love, love them! Needless to say, this (to me) was great.

She’s not really sleeping, she’s just whining.

As you can see, Leah didn’t quite feel the same way. The boys liked it. Not as much as me (and my husband) but they were interested.

The Spanish completed the fort in the late 1700′s. How astounding is it that something built over 200 years ago is still standing? Astounding!

It even has a dungeon. Leah really didn’t like that part.

And, don’t get me started on the views:
