Aging Expectations

Alaskan Cruise Port: Juneau

JuneauWe didn’t sleep late on our Alaskan cruise the day we pulled into Juneau!

Of course, we wanted to see the great scenery and watch those fully armed coast guard boats on both sides of our ship (still not sure why that happened). Yes, that was cool but we mainly wanted to be up early because of our excursion!

We splurged (and I mean splurged) on the…

Helicopter/Dog Sled tour. The tour takes you on a helicopter ride overlooking looking the amazing mountains, then you land on TOP OF A GLACIER and then you go for a dog sled ride…wait, it gets better. You even get to drive the dog sled.

WHAT?

Amazing, right?

Well, it was. The weather was super sunny but there was still a little chill in the air. The people were extremely friendly and informative.

Here’s a few fun facts:

  • The dogs go to the bathroom while they are racing.
  • The dogs know their right from their left when the driver calls it out.
  • The dogs do not sleep inside.

Here are some pictures that will not even do it justice!

After, we had lunch Tracey’s. It was very expensive but fantastic. I highly recommend it.

We walked back to the ship, which turned out to be a lot further than we thought but it was fun and Leah hardly complained, which is amazing!

We had dinner at the buffet place. Getting very boring.

With all the excitement from the day, we all turned in early!
