58 Years Young – Storybook Land

storybook landThis summer Leah and I visited Storybook Land.

We’ve done this before and had the best time.

Storybook Land is a great nursery rhyme theme park for kids, generally in the 3 – 8 age range.

It’s been around since 1955! I actually remember driving by it when I was a little. I don’t remember actually going. In fairness to my mother (who is no longer with us) she may have taken me and I just forget.

This year’s trip was…

fantastic too!!

The rides are the perfect size for Leah. She still didn’t venture on the roller coaster or the big bouncy ride (I don’t know what to call it). But, she did go on ALL the other rides.

She even went on a bunch by herself! Like this one…

Loving it — spinning away — so much fun!!

Spin, spin, spin — she is so happy!

Oh no…this doesn’t look good!

Don’t worry, she was fine! She regained her composure and finished the ride like a champ!

Besides the rides, I love how Storybook Land incorporates other things to see (nursery rhyme related) into the park. The kids enjoy seeing those exhibits almost as much as the rides.

I know what you’re thinking, “Thanks for letting me know now – summer is over.”

But…Storybook Land has stuff happening in the fall and winter. Exciting!

You can check it all out here.

Please note though, they do close for inclement weather.

Let me know if you go in the fall or winter. I’d love to hear what you thought!

  1. What a terrific place, indeed. I never went there as a child even though I grew up not that far away, but we’ve had wonderful times bringing my niece and my daughter to Storybook Land. Love it there!
